First I was there.  Bennett states ‘The dining rooms are drawing capacity crowds, Story and Pantall reported’

Oh Bennett the place at that point had been open 5 days with one of those being Sunday Brunch.  You just have to laugh at the silly folks who just look like tools.

Earth to Bennett…our executive chef has left in record time (and there is a story to that the general BC public will never hear)…we no longer serve breakfast.  Breakfast service ceased within hours of opening.  I can report accurately that the place was dead as a doornail last night.  As a community you will never read the “rest of the story”.

We are asked to be patient while the “bugs” are worked out.  THAT IS WHAT A SOFT OPENING is for (that we paid for).  Ya know the one where BW proclaimed the best salmon he ever had…anywhere…it was free though.

Some bafoon (yes bafoon) names the kids menu “the little trouble makers’ menu…they changed it after an uproar.  The place needs every living body it can get through the door and the brilliant folks we have hired with tons of experience alienate a segment of people in the Big Canoe.  You never see that in a real restuarant.

Earth to Bennett again…go over to the Fuego…the place is run like a top and is packed with Big Canoe folks.  I felt sorry for them when they opened but it a stroke of luck for us because the Board will have no excuse for a failing venture when we have one that opened within days of the Sconti right outside of the North Gate that will be successful.  The Fuego much to my surprise is impressive.  There is another reason it is doing well, but let’s see if Ed Murrow, the Board, and/or one of our plentiful directors figure that out.

This place ran so much better and with a lot less people with Stan Stewart.  It is tough not to have cynical moments…Helen B. would want me to go outside and breathe deep and enjoy the green surroundings to make myself feel better…I am going right now Mrs. B…it is so much better to get along and be mediocre…
