Jim E. and Jim M., have you read my comment (above) to Deas on anonymous postings?

There are many valid reasons for posting anonymous comments to web sites.

I see your point. Very Valid. Unfortunately, it sounds like there are a great deal of folks with their hand in the purse or that have some self interests other than the living conditions of the the community. In addition, I concur with your comment about social capital. Its unfortunate.

Again, positive ideas relative to the improvement of the community are important regardless of how they are received.

I hope we can still use this forum to create great ideas and displace the poor non functional policies.

The more group think that occurs the faster we will hit financial hardships. I fortunately or unfortunately do not have any ships in the Big Canoe sea of money harvesting. So I really can speak my mind.

Deas,

In answer to two of your comments, “Guess that I am one from the old school where if you have something to say, you say it and sign it with your real name.” and “How about a real name?”

and I add:

Why do most of the users of this website remain anonymous?

What are the reasons for remaining anonymous relative to Big Canoe?

All good questions; let me list a few of the reasons:

Many, if not most, Big Canoers know that speaking out openly on this forum will reduce their Big Canoe social capital.

-----------------------------------

Some Big Canoers don’t speak out openly because:

They own companies that depend on POA business contracts.

They work for the POA.

They work for Big Canoe Co. LLC.

They sell real estate at Big Canoe and are afraid of Developer retaliation.

They build spec homes at Big Canoe and are afraid of POA Board retaliation.

Yes, they live in fear of speaking out, and therefore, cannot afford to have their identities known.

-----------------------------------

Others must hide their identity due to retaliation threats from the POA Board. Isn’t this the reason that Billie Ann Rice forced the POA Board to add wording to the CC&Rs to stop the threats?

Being anonymous allows 4kfee posters an OPEN public forum where they can speak out without having to worry that they may receive retribution from the POA Board members and/or their minions and others.

Let’s hope that Big Canoers speak out openly, or privately, on this website.

Alley-Cat,

How about a real name? I am just trying to open up ideas from the group in an attempt to move this board from a complaints forum to a solutions forum. I mentioned in my post that we should not condemn any contributed ideas. Thats the way the POA operates and frankly why we have such a mess.

We have this 12M investment sitting with empty tables and the only thing that seems to work is the golf shop that was space planned to be the best location in the house???

As far as Crouch, I think we should focus on the the board as a whole and not single out one individual. I believe that I mentioned on my post I still hold them accountable. Some of us find personal attacks to be negative and non productive. Therefore, avoiding them will allow others to awaken from their silent state. The more radical and combative the site becomes, the less effective it will have as a tool to communicate and move forward.

As far as my ideas, anyone in the creative process should take them and expand upon them. We need some big thoughts here to handle a big problem. Once again I invite others to throw out ideas to my post so that we can provide a list later to the board. Otherwise, I will continue to visit the club and eat at the pub outside while tables are empty in the dining hall.

PS. I noticed we have a fireplace that does not burn wood? What is up with that? This is the mountains!
